Once, Sridhar would lie on the hard streets of Bengaluru next to his wife and two children. Drunk and malnourished, Sridhar and Devamma dreamed of the day they could lie down in a warm bed and give their three and eight-year-olds a world they hadn’t known before. One with running water, a roof, and steady, consistent food.
Now, Sridhar and Devamma smile soberly from their new home, the Home of Hope. A shelter that was born out of the response to save those living in severe poverty. It was in this space that Sridhar and Devamma were able to get the medical and healthcare help they needed to start building a better life for their kids. One that goes beyond the necessities of food and shelter.
Currently? Dreams are no longer distant as Sridhar and his family are held up by more than four walls.
